‘The BFG’ is a marriage of two giants of childhood.

Much-loved author Roald Dahl’s story has been re-imagined for the silver screen by the colossus of cinema that is Steven Speilberg.

British actor Mark Rylance plays the pseudonymous hero in the story, which sees a young girl plucked from her orphanage to Giant Land, where she meets the kind and charismatic protagonist.

Oscar-winning Rylance looks dapper as he happily poses for photos at the London premiere in his trademark fedora, while director Speilberg cuts a relaxed figure as he rests in the roots of a tree on the lavishly decorated red carpet.

Actress Rebecca Hall looks every inch an English rose in a classic cream dress featuring an unusual polo neck, while child star Ruby Barnhill wears a bright and funky turquoise number. And the film also features the famous face of Sir Ben Kingsley.

‘The BFG’ opens nationwide from July 22.
