The Conservatives have gathered in Manchester for their annual conference as Theresa May battles to retain the faith of her party, amid slow progress in Brexit talks.

Mrs May must also deal with a growing revolt over her plans to tackle high energy prices.

The Prime Minister and her husband watched on as National Conservative Convention President Andrew Sharpe and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster Sir Patrick McLoughlin addressed the audience.
